This romcom is 100% worth the bookstagram hype, and is definitely among my most enjoyable books of the year! In this delightful story, Anna, a journalist and divorced mom in Bath, England, has finally grown used to a quiet life focused on her career and two kids. But when a hiccup at work throws her job into jeopardy, she is forced to come up with a new writing idea - even if it means collaborating with her office arch nemesis, Will. As Anna embarks on a hilarious whirlwind dating odyssey - with her kids as matchmakers - to keep her column afloat, Will is an infuriating counterpoint at every turn. But can Anna open herself to the possibility that Will is not who she believed him to be - and open her heart to being happy again?

Once in a while a romance strikes just the right chord with me and I’m smitten! I’ve tried to figure out the winning formula: set in England is a plus, so is a 30+ main character, and well written dialogue is a must. But this book had something many others don’t: actual com to go with the rom! I laughed out loud and rooted for this romance in equal measure. Also, this book has a very endearing cast of characters with heartwarming subplots that gave this one unexpected depth and credibility. In short: I loved it!

Ever since I did a holiday cookie collab with @oprahsbookclub a few years ago (a dream come true!) I have loved making my own book-themed holiday bakes every December since! It’s one of my very favorite traditions and I look forward to it every year. When Will brought a cinnamon bun to Anna at their office, I knew I wanted to pair this book with a kind of a Christmas morning, cinnamon/gingerbread fantasy breakfast. It was so much fun to create - and this gingerbread house reminds me of the cabin in the woods from the story!
