RED, WHITE & ROYAL BLUE
On the last day of Pride Month I’m working my way through this bookstagram darling: a romance between the fictional son of a US president and an English prince. Snarky and sweet, I’m so curious to find out whether Alex from America will end up happily ever after with Prince Henry! I’m only one quarter in, so no review yet - instead I’m sharing a few favorites with LGBTQ themes, stories and/or authors. I LOVED all of these!
The Guncle - One of my favorites of 2021, about a gay uncle in Palm Springs who takes on his grieving niece and nephew for the summer - I ADORED it
The Sweetness of Water - Beautiful, heartbreaking historical fiction from the Reconstruction era in the South, one of my favorite @oprahsbookclub picks yet
Here for It - Moving, heartfelt and hilarious essay collection that is especially fabulous on audio, a wonderful @readwithjenna pick
Less - Upon learning that his former boyfriend is engaged, a Arthur Less sets out on a trip around the works to avoid attending the wedding in this Pulitzer Prize winner
This Is How It Always Is - a loving, close-knit family makes difficult choices as their young child questions their gender identity in this @reesesbookclub pick
And finally, some festive homemade rainbow-pride donuts, made with my babycakes donut press and frosted with fruity pebbles! If you told me seven years ago when I started photographing food and books that I’d be sorting cereal by color I’d have called you crazy, but here I am and I love it! Thank you for being here!
